About Us

Clayton West Cricket Club was founded in 1877 and is a member of the Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League. It is run on a voluntary basis by members of the local community and operates on a not-for profit basis. It continues to serve as one of only two recreational outlets (sports clubs) within the village of Clayton West (Clayton West Bowling Club being the other) and in recent years has seen child participation increase significantly through a concerted effort to improve our facilities and coaching capability and resources. More than 100 children attend coaching sessions through the week – with representation at all junior age groups within the Drakes Huddersfield District League. We are very proud of our accomplishments in recent times and remain fully committed to ensuring our efforts are sustained, building upon our proud heritage and history.
